the food itself is decent but a bit overpriced probably a one time thing for me
Over priced, alot of the food is precooked and frozen. Would not recommend eating there. Much better places to eat at for the price.
My family and I visited this restaurant from Texas about a week ago. The service was great. Our server was very friendly and accomodating. The food was great too. I would visit again!
Service was great, but I’ve never had very good food here. Quality of the meet is always subpar.
This place had a good variety of choices in different categories. Everyone found something they liked, and the portions were big. Super friendly staff, clean restaurant. I felt like the prices were a little higher than I expected, but that's probably my own issue, not theirs. I would definitely go again!
Good down home cooking and great specials.
Friday staff. Chris was waiting on us first. Very friendly. Steve the bartender took over. Steve is funny, friendly and personable. Great food. Filet mignon was perfect. Chicken butts were awesome. Along with mushroom buttons. Margaritas were excellent.
Very good prices ,Excellent food will visit again for Surf and Turf
Absolutely the best service from Eliza and Season !!!! Prime rib was the best I’ve ever had!Everything about the whole experience was beyond great ❤️
We ordered a cheeseburger fries and a hamburger fries. Cheeseburger came out with Swiss cheese (husband doesn't like). I gave him half my burger. Asked waitress why we were not given a choice of cheese since menu offers choice. She said what do you want me to do. I said tell the manager that if a ticket goes to kitchen with no specific cheese, it's not the cooks choice. Send it back with waitress to get customer choice. Asked for to go cup for tea. She said we don't give to go cups because people were taking margaritas out in them. So, everyone else has to suffer. Their prices have gone up and customer service has gone down. I used to go here quit often but will not go back. I am a Pagosa Springs resident. What a shame.
Awesome food, good mixed drinks and Steve was awesome and had a bunch of information about the town!
My ribeye steak was to die for. I have not had a steak this good in many years. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and so tender I could actually cut it with my fork. The garlic mashed potatoes were heavenly. Service was fast and our waitress (Amber) efficient and friendly. My wife had the Cod and loved it. Even the bread was noteworthy. Even the music was even good. Heard a Freddy Fender song from back in the day that brought back great memories. If you are in Pagosa Springs you should eat here at least once. You won't regret it.
I don’t normally do reviews, but I want to save others their hard earned vacation money. Food was horrible. Appetizer came out burnt. We had to wait forever on our order. You could’ve played hockey with my wife’s burger bun. We don’t recommend and won’t be back. Our waitress was great. I just feel sorry for her having to serve bad food.
Meals were not as good as usual. It's far from a gourmet steak place, but in the past, food has been dependable and slightly above average. Might in be Covid/new staff related. We will try again in a month or so.
Our first time we have been in a restaurant since the pandemic started and this was done right. The barbaque was very good and all the services were great.
Ordered the filet mignon. Asked for it to be medium. The server said I should order it med well. I figured he knew what he was talking about. It came out 1 inch thick (???????) andwas well done. I sent it back and asked for it to be med rare. Again, it came back well done. I've been in the meat & seafood industry for 17 yrs. I've never seen a filet thinner than 2 inches thick. On top of that, it wasn't even a filet, maybe a sirloin. Although they made it right and didn't charge me.
This restaurant was absolutely wonderful I got fish battered in beer mashed potatoes which if you're like me and like garlic these are spot on and plenty 2 eat my husband had a steak and said it was the best he ever had . We enjoy our dinners very much and plan on going back before we head home 2 Alabama. Also they have everything from scampi Mexican Italian and barbecue and last the best desserts ever just so much 2 choose from. Try this restaurant you will want 2 go back . Also service is fast .
Best ribeye I have ever had in my life! And unbeatable customer service! Will definitely visit again!
Service was was quick, polite, and respectful. Ribeye steak, shrimp, baked potatoes were cooked to perfection with plenty of flavor.
The patty melt was great. Good thing I ordered extra cheese though. Service was outstanding. A kid named Donnie I think. The art collection is very nice, it was late on a weekday so we were able to walk about and view quite a bit of it.I ordered the coleslaw but one taste and it was in the napkin. It was fouled or maybe it's just that bad. I don't know. My mother-in-law was recently visiting maybe I'm spoiled .I will definitely be back.
Good margaritas but food.. we all went out to eat steaks. It took 15 minutes to get waited on. I ordered medium rare and it was well done. Finally got waitress' attention 10 minutes passed and everyone else had to eat or it would be cold. Three of four had baked potatoes that were hard and luke warm. We ordered seconds on margaritas and my husband ordered a third in which we never got... so sad. We had met owners in a local store and wanted to patronize their business.
The food was good, server was excellent!! Good atmosphere!
Great Southwestern Food! Strict adherence to safety guidelines.
We are thinking about bring our dry cleaning services to Pagosa Springs. Was there last weekend to check out the area and stopped by Boss Hogg's. WOW, Great service and the prim rib was one of the best I ever have had. Thank you Boss Hogg's for the great meal. My wife really enjoyed the salad bar with all the fresh veggies.
The burger was great from here. Bbq wasn't that good. Gonna have to go back and try some other stuff they have
Lovely place! We first visited it on our trip during Thanksgiving. Then we decided to come back. It is nice, cozy and the food is good!
I love this place! It has the best food ever. I haven't got to visit Pagosa in a couple years so I really miss their amazing food.
Bacon wrapped filet mignon with fries and macaroni
If I could leave 0 stars I would. Horrible service and the food was not what was expected. I ordered steak and lobster. The lobster was dry and old. The steak was overcooked, almost burnt. When addressed the hostess was very rude, even from the beginning, the waitress did not check on us at all. Never thought I would have to read a menu from 4 feet away that was size 12 font taped to the back of a chair and said “do not touch”, we asked them to scoot it towards us so those of us that are hard of seeing could at least order correctly. When asked what beers were on tap, the “hostess” said that she “did not know and she was only a hostess”, and then stated she would get our drinks when the bartender “got their act together”.
Food is good, service great, presentation of food on plate NOT Good. Why would I pay over $20 for a steak and toppings for my baked potato and then have to finish making food. This is something you do at Golden Corral, Not at a sit down restaurant. Boss Hogg’s has the potential to be great. The problem is there’s no competition. So they can serve food this way cause they don’t care.
We were referred to this place by the lady in town who owns the Christmas Store. The food was wonderful, loved the salad bar & service was great. Highly recommend it.
Wonderful experience. Especially with our waitress Penny! She was awesome. Went here two nights in a row since the menu had so many different options. My boyfriend and I were able to split an app, entre, and dessert and leave feeling way too full. I recommend the snake eggs! Thanks again Penny!
Wonderful visit.. always in. Only suggestion is the potatoes were still green.. prime rib is fantastic. First place we have eaten prime rib in Colorado that they didn't ruin it by flat top grilling..
Great rib-eye & IPA on tap. They also have $2 Margaritas. We walked from our hotel next door and got a 10% neighbor discount. I liked the ambiance. They sure had a lot of elk heads on their walls. Wish I'd have taken a picture for this post.
So we stopped here on the 4th of July this year. I ordered the 10oz ribeye med rare with tater tots and sweet potatoes fries and my husband got El jefe sirloin med rare with coleslaw and potatoes salad, omg!! The food was sooo great. The atmosphere was as good as it could get with covid-19 and it’s restrictions. Our waitress was Lauren and she was sooo sweet. We would recommend this place to anyone!! My tater tots were even cooked to perfection!!
Good food. The burger smothered in green chili stew (and fries) was great.
Great ambience. Good food. Our server was Penny and she was fabulous. We'll definitely come back.
The jalapeño popper “snake eggs” are an awesome appetizer and the chicken fried steak is really delicious. I like getting a salad as one of my sides so that I can make a trip to the salad bar. The $2 margaritas are NOT good but at least they were only $2.
Good place for families, big burgers, a nice salad bar (or Covid). Very comfortable. Huge corn dogs. In haven't had steak but I'm sure all is good.
Great selection for lunch and dinner. Everything always good.
Been here twice in week n 1/2. Both times we had excellent service with Penny and sorry I didn’t get the name is our waitress last night. The happy hour special Steak is so good and $1.99 margaritas..I know we will back..Cool bar!!
The place has been controversial over the years; as a local I wanted to try it out again. Penny was fabulous!! She was so busy and managed to make us feel welcome and taken care of, we really didn’t wait long. I am so happy leaving, she made it such a great experience! Request her if you can! The meal was great, steaks cooked to perfection. I really appreciate the good service and food!
Good service, good, food. What more do you want. Clean and efficient.
The food was excellent! In our group of 5, everyone was happy with their order. The service was the best. The atmosphere was fun, decorations delightful. The restaurant was exceptionally clean. I highly recommend it.
Unfortunately Boss Hogg's has the feel and taste of a restaurant open beyond it's time, like a Golden Corral, without the buffet. The salad bar is needs more options, romaine lettuce, cottage cheese, black olives, boiled eggs, cheese, peaches, all with a sad existence. Chicken fried steak is a Sysco frozen panko-esque crust, sliver of a pickle, cut a half a pickle in half, then again and then again, put it on top of a piece of lettuce and that's what decorates the plate. I'd recommend it to be left of because it gives the appearance of 'eh, it's all we got'. There is many more descriptives that could be given, however, let's just leave it at, eh, you could do much better most anywhere else in Pagosa.
Don't get the baby back ribs! They did not taste fresh & the barbecue sauce tasted strongly of mustard. I got the half rack & could only eat one. The waiter asked if I wanted a to-go box for them & I said no, I would not eat them because I did not care for them & he said "yeah, a lot of people don't like the ribs". I was a little disappointed they did not offer a substitute or a discount. Now, the French fries were fantastic, home made & fresh cut. Also the baked beans had lots of tasty meat in them & the mashed potatoes were also home made, very good. The catfish was super good & lots of it, very generous portions of every item we ordered. The bar is kind of separated from the rest of the restaurant, so it's definitely a place you can take small children & be at ease. Great variety of North American taxidermied wildlife. Everything else besides the ribs met expectations.
Great place great food great service
Friendly staff. My ribs were not very good but my girlfriends club sandwich was great. I'd return but order something different.
Began my road trip in Illinois, to Texas, Arizona and now in Colorado. Eliza and Season are by far the most pleasant and welcoming people we have met by far. The meal is the only thing so far second to those 2 brilliant ladies.
Cheeseburger and Fries to go. Frozen patty but that's ok because it was a quality patty. Fries were great style. Both burger and fries had some spice. Especially the fries. I like spicy just not on my fries. On the burger spicy is fine. Overall it had a pretty good flavor. How the fries ended up Spicy I have no idea. If I ever come through here again I would eat here again.
